Scott, Communication Strategies across Cultural Borders

Scott's Communication Strategies across Cultural Borders looks at the variegated

path of cross-cultural communication, an offshoot of deeply ingrained cultural values, historical

contexts, and social norms. Miscalculations occurring when engaging with dangerous territory

through an unknown environment during complex professional or personal interrelations

become interesting and more than interest-arousing. Scott's argument is that language skills

must go hand in hand with cultural sensitivity and responsiveness in achieving effective

The discussion of power dynamics in cross-cultural communication is an insight into the way in

which privilege and history will dictate discourse. While passing on the strategies are effectively
