A student in my class recently completed a migration lesson aligned with the academic level

SS5H1. Describe how life changed in America around the turn of the century. The lesson aligns

with the art academic standard VA6.RE.1.a, Identify how the issues of time, place, and culture

This museum, located in Memphis, Tennessee, is in charge of displaying the history of the civil

rights movement as well as the occurrence of slavery or what is also referred to as forced

migration in the US from the seventeenth century. YouTube will be used for the virtual tour,

which will show the pupils more museum photos. The museum display is housed in the Lorraine

hotel, where students can experience firsthand the events of the slave trade and the forced

migration of these individuals from their homeland. The civil rights movements are the result of

this and other historical occurrences. They will next study the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther
