State officer certification examination or S.O.C.E. (introduction) - ANS-- Upon
completion of a basic recruit training program and individual must pass the state officer
certification examination SOCE to become certified as a correction officer. An applicant
must pass the SOCE within three attempts
Officer compliance. (introduction) - ANS-- When a recruit is being hired by correction
facility that agency will conduct a thorough background investigation to determine his or
her moral character prior to employment with the agency.
Disciplinary action (introduction) - ANS-- In addition to certifying criminal justice officer
the commission has the Authority to impose discipline on an officers certification at the
officer or fail to maintain the require standard of conduct.
The commission may take action against an officers certification if the officer does the
following: (introduction) - ANS-- Failed to maintain good moral character as defined by
the Florida statutes and Florida at administrative code (cjstc rule 11b-27 fac).
- Commit any act constituting a felony offense regardless of a criminal prosecution.
- Has an unprofessional relationships with an inmate detainee probationer parole or
community controlee has written or oral communication that is intended to facilitate
conduct which is prohibit by the commission rule engage in any physical contact not
require in the performance of official duties that is normally associate with the
demonstration of affection or sexual misconduct as defined in section FS944.353.
