Contraindications for Iontophoresis
-demand cardiac pacemaker
-implantable cardiac defibrillator
-unstable arrhythmias (irregular heartbeat)
-over carotid sinus
-thrombosis or thrombophlebitis present
-pregnancy
-malignant tumors

Precautions for Cryotherapy
-over the superficial main branch of a nerve (leads to nerve conduction block)
-over an open wound (delays healing)
-hypertension HTN
-poor sensation or mentation
-very young and very old patients
Contraindications for Cryotherapy

-cold intolerance
-cryglobulinemia
-paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria
-overregenerating peripheral nerves
-raynaud
-over area w/ circulatory compromise or PVD
