, I decided to interview my father for this interview because he and my mom were
divorced when I was in my teens. Below are the questions that I asked during the interview with
the responses that I was given.
Question 1 - Can you describe your approach to co-parenting post-divorce and how you
prioritize your children?
Response—When it comes to co-parenting post-divorce, my approach is always to
prioritize the well-being and best interests of our children. We strive to maintain open and
respectful communication and make decisions that benefit our kids. We also consciously try to
create a consistent and stable environment for them, no matter the circumstances.
Question 2 - How do you maintain effective communication and collaboration with your
ex-partner regarding your children’s upbringing and well-being?
Response—I have tried my best to maintain effective communication by focusing on my
children's needs. I ensure I am respectful and clear about what my kids need to focus on. I am
willing to compromise, work together for their benefit, and set boundaries. Having open, honest
conversations can also help navigate co-parenting successfully.
Question 3- How do you handle disagreements or conflicts with your former partner
regarding decisions, and what steps do you take to ensure these disputes do not negatively affect
your children?
