white collar crime - ANS-crimes committed by wealthy or powerful individuals in the course of
their professions or occupations (people in a position of power).

moral crimes - ANS-crimes against the normal standard of morality in society (they go against
society's norms or moral code).

state crime - ANS-criminal acts committed by state officials in the pursuit of their jobs as
representatives of the government (illegal or deviant activities perpetrated by state agencies).

technological crime - ANS-crimes that use computer networks or devices to advantage other
ends (offences involving the use of information and communication technology ICT such as the
internet, social media etc. also known as cyber crimes or e-crimes).

individual crime - hate crime - ANS-crimes where the perpetrator is perceived to be motivated by
hatred of the victim because of the victim's disability, race, religion, sexual orientation or
transgender identity. these characteristics are known as 'protected characteristics'.

individual crime - honour crime - ANS-this involves violence committed to defend the supposed
honour of a family or community. the violence is directed against the individual who is deemed
to have brought shame on the family. also called honour-based crime.

individual crime - domestic abuse - ANS-this involves the use of violence, abuse or threatening
behaviour against a partner, ex-partner or family member. also called domestic violence.
