1. Regarding the Post-TANIC Self-Assessment for this week, how does your competency level
compare to the Week 2 Self-Assessment?
2. Which competencies do you think may benefit you in your future role as an APN and why?
3. As discussed in the lesson this week, healthcare providers must be competent in informatics in
order to make ethical decisions about informatics technologies and patients' intimate healthcare
data and information. To the extent that information technology is reshaping healthcare
practices or promises to improve patient care, healthcare professionals must possess certain
competencies which will assist with consistency and quality. Which competencies did you
achieve in this course? Explain
After comparing week two’s Post-TANIC Self-Assessment to this week’s assessment, I went from scoring
mostly proficient to now scoring mostly expert on the scoring guide.
The nursing informatic TIGER competency model consist of three main parts which include: basic
computer competencies, information literacy, and information management (HIMSS, 2017). I believe all
three competencies within this model are pertinent and will benefit us greatly within the healthcare
field. The competency I chose within the TIGER model that I think would most benefit from in my future
role as a nurse practitioner is information management, which includes use of the electronic health care
