Hello everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself before I answer the
required questions this week! My name is Clifford Langley but all my
friends and family call me Brandon. I have been a RN for five years, I
graduated with my BSN back in 2018. I’m 28 years old and I live
about 20 minutes north of Atlanta, Georgia, and have lived in the
same town my entire life. I currently work in the Neuro ICU at one of
the busiest hospitals in metro Atlanta and all of my professional
practice has been in the critical care setting. I have been married to
my husband for going on two years, after being together for almost
10 years. We have one fur baby, a pug named Blossom and in my
free time I enjoy reading, working in the yard, and watching TV. I am
excited to continue pursuing my goal of being a Psychiatric NP here
at Chamberlain!
1. I was born August 19, 1994, I always wished it was a fall/winter
month growing up, because Georgia summers are brutal. 2. To me
informatics means technology and data and when you add that to
nursing, I think it means the integration of technology and data as a
means to measure/improve nursing practices. One example of
informatics, that I can think of, is, patient portals. Most medical
,offices, and hospital systems, now have a portal that patients can
sign in to view their medical information (vital
, signs, lab results, notes, etc). By integrating technology into nursing
practice, patients now can access their charts and be more involved
in their own care. 3. Over the next eight weeks, I am looking forward
to learning about how informatics has impacted hospital systems and
how it can be used to foster more modern and safer nursing practices
in the future, and right now!
4. This is a picture of my husband, David, and myself (I’m on the
left) on our honeymoon at Navarre Beach 2021. This picture was
taken the last day of our two-week trip and is my favorite picture
from the entire trip!
