ACNS EP Guidelines
SSEPs - answer assess peripheral sensory function, evaluating the functional integrity
of sensory projection pathways in the central nervous system or both
A-D converter - answer input signals w/peak-to-peak amps of 5uV to 50uV should be
amplified equal to full range
Gain - answer should be adjustable in steps of not more than 2.5 to 1
differential input impedance of amplifier must be - answer100megOHM
common mode rejection - answer should be at least 80dB (10,000:1) at the highest
sensitivity of the amp when common mode signal is applied between both inputs and
neutral
amplifier bandpass - answer measures at the -3dB points must be at least 0.1-5,000hz,
Rolloff slopes of the filters must be specified
nose level of amplifier - answer must not exceed 2uVrms w/the inputs connected to
neutral and w/bandpass of 0.1-5,000hz
amplifiers - answermust meet all specifications in the presence of 300-mV offset applied
differentially between the input terminals 1 and 2
Chassis leakage should be less than ___ with ground open - answer300 uA rms
direct connection from pt ground to chassis or power line ground ____ be present -
answerSHOULD NOT
Max leakage current thorugh pt leads should be ___ to ground w/120VAC applied -
answer10uA
maximum leakage current should be____ at the pt ended of the cable when the power
line ground is disconnected - answer50uA
Excessive analog filtering - answerwill alter the latency, amplitude and morpholgy
Excessive low-frequency filtering - answerwill cause a peak or valley to appear earlier
excessive high-frequency filtering - answerwill delay a peak or valley
