R. EEG T. – answer ABRET is credentialing body. Tech must complete 200 patient
EEGs & have CPR certification. Responsibilities: recording patient history, head
measuring, monitor placement & equip. maintenance.

R. EP T. – answer ABRET is credentialing body. Tech must complete 25 clinical evoked
potentials (10 w/in last year, not surgical or on anesthetized patient).

R. PSG T. - answer registered polysomnographic technologist. CAAHEP (Commission
on Accreditation of Allied Health Education) accredited; testing is done by BRPT (Board
of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists). must have BLS certification

R. CNIM – answer ABRET is credential body. Neurophysiologic Inoperative Monitoring.
Must have documented 150 NIOM cases-documented 30 hours relevant education in
last 5 years and CRP/BLS. exam consists of 200 items based on the practical analysis
and 50 items of the evoked potential practice analysis. Work mainly with the CNS on
unconscious OR patients. monitoring is relative to the time of procedures.

CLTM – answer ABRET is credentialing body. Certification in long term monitoring. One
year of long term monitoring experience as R. EEG T. is needed plus documentation of
50 long term cases and current CPR/BLS

R. NCS T. - answerAAET (American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists) is
credentialing body. Nerve Conduction Study Technologist, should have at least 6
months experience in NCS studies under either direction of a physician or a registered
technologist and completed EEG program. Physician should also be an active AANEM
(American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine) member.
Deal with both the PNS and the CNS.
