beneficiaries inherit from a deceased person’s estate. In South African law, these
rights generally become vested upon the death of the testator, but the nature of the

inheritance. Vested rights grant beneficiaries a personal right to claim the inherited
property, rather than immediate ownership. This complexity raises important questions
