topic. One essay will be on a film or text you have studied, and the other will focus on a broader thematic or
cultural topic.
Themes: Common themes include social issues, family, technology, culture, history, politics, and identity.
Ensure you are familiar with these topics and the relevant vocabulary.
2. Essay Structure:
Introduction: Clearly introduce the topic and briefly outline your argument or main points.

paragraphs to separate ideas and maintain a clear structure.
Conclusion: Summarize your argument or provide a balanced conclusion. Avoid introducing new points in
the conclusion.

synonyms and varied expressions.
Topic-Specific Vocabulary: Familiarize yourself with key terms and phrases related to the themes you will
be writing about, such as those related to politics, culture, literature, and society.

Film or Text Essay: When writing about a film or literary work, focus on key themes, characters, narrative
techniques, and the director or author's intentions.
o Analysis: Discuss the significance of important scenes, characters, or literary techniques used in
the text or film.
o Context: Link your analysis to the broader cultural, social, or historical context of the work.

before you start writing.
