ILLNESS or use of alcohol, drugs, narcotics, chemicals, or any other type of material or
as a result of any mental or physical condition.
What can the department do if someone is unable to practice physical therapy with
reasonable skill and safety? - -Compel a PT or PTA to submit to a physical or mental
examination. This can be reinforced by filing a petition for enforcement.

- Engaging directly/indirectly in the dividing, transferring, assigning, rebating, or
refunding of fees received for services
- License revoked or suspended or application refused, revoked, or suspended

treatment? - -Yes. $1K-$10K fine and/or reprimand. 3 months suspension of license
followed by 3 years probation.
Can you be fined for obtaining a license by Department or Board error? - -Yes.
Minimum letter of concern and/or a find of $500 up to a maximum suspension of the
license by 1 year.
