PFT Monitor Certification Overview LATEST UPDATE
The PFT was specifically designed to test - (ANSWER)-To test the strength
-Stamina of upper body
-Midsection and lower body
(as well as efficiency of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems)
The PFT is an annual requirement for - (ANSWER)-Active duty
-Active reserves
-and marines approaching end of active service
The PFT is comprised of three events - (ANSWER)-Hybrid Pull-Up/Push-up test
-Abdominal Crunch
-3 Mile Run
The recommended order of PFT events - (ANSWER)Is decided by the commander or officer in
charge
(All three events can not exceed two hours from start of first even to finishing the last event)
Marines 46 or older Rowing Machine - (ANSWER)-This event must be taken on a "Concept 2
(c2) machine.
-Rowing ergometer with a performance monitor 3 (pm3) or later
Marines younger than 46 years of age who are recommended - (ANSWER)-Recommended by a
healthcare practitioner based on medical condition and approved by the CO can also take the
rowing event.
PFT Monitor responsibilities (Monitor Duties) - (ANSWER)Oversee the administering of the
PFT test
Perform the duties of:
-Supervise events
-Observe Performance
-Advise participants
-Report and document results
Preparing the PFT Monitor - (ANSWER)-Selecting and setting up the areas for each event
-Mitigating risk associated with each event using risk management
-Selecting and training assistant monitors as needed

The Marines rotator cuff muscles can also be affected by strain
