Verbal: A message that is conveyed through the voice.

Nonverbal: A message that is sent non spoken. (Get the most communication)
1. Personal appearance

Verbal

Volume
The degree of loudness or the softness of the speakers voice.
Pitch
The relative highness or lowness of a speakers voice.
Rate of speech
The speed at which the person speaks. Average speaking rate: 120-150 words per minute
Pauses
An interval of silence in speaking. (Good pauses are planned. Bad pauses are unplanned.)
Vocalize pauses: Pauses that are utterances not words
Stock phrases: Words that are negative
Vocal variety
Changes in a speakers rate, pitch and volume that gives the voice variety and expressiveness.

Pronunciation
The excepted standard of sound and rhythm for words in a given language.
Articulation
Physical production of particular speech sounds.
Dialect
A variety of a language distinguished by variations of accent, grammar or vocabulary. (How you
sound based on where you’re from.) from each other.
