Question 1.1
i. Induction makes a new employee feel at home
ii. Portrays a good impression about the organization
iii. Increases organization loyalty and reduces labor turnover
iv. Motivates employee to work hard and meet required targets
v. Improves communication channels between employee and peers and also with
management
vi. Reduces anxiety bias and confusion about organizational details


Question 1.2
i. Newspaper and other offline methods- vacant positions in a company are placed as
adverts in the jobs section of the newspaper
ii. Job boards- are the most common form of external advertisement and reaches a wider
audience. Speeds up the hiring process
iii. Social Media- has become a job searching center in recent times as company ads on
vacant posts and recruitments are circulated around for interested parties to see.
iv. Job affairs- this allows for face to face interactions between possible candidates usually
graduates and employers and it’s really great in getting the first impression of a candidate
v. Recruitment agencies- These can be used to connect candidates looking for employment
and the employers. Trusted agencies can actually do the initial selection of candidates
who meet requirements before they send the names and documents of candidates to the
companies.




Question 1.3
i. Personality Tests
These tests would help assess and predict the conduct that a candidate would
probably engage in hence choosing the candidate who is ideal to the company’s
needs.
ii. Talent Assessment tests
These tests are conducted to predict the probable performance and retain ability of
a candidate as they focus on scrutinizing the skills and ability of a candidate. De
beers would then choose the candidate ideal to their needs.

, iii. Cognitive Test
These tests measure the memory, reasoning capacity, accuracy, arithmetic and
language fluency and reading capacity of a client. This would help the company
owners to choose a candidate who can communicate with many clients fluently
and peers and also make wise decisions when working.
iv. Physical Ability Tests
These are very necessary in identifying the physical health state of an employee,
strength and stamina which helps understand one’s ability to handle pressure
without compromising their health.
v. Drug tests
These are important as they show the presence of drugs or alcohol in the system.
Drug tests determine if the employee has been using certain chemicals in recent
weeks.
Question 2.1
i. Internal employees already have a high level of knowledge and understanding of
the company so the employee gets to work straight away
ii. Increases employee morale and hence improves work quality
iii. Saves time as process is faster and hence saves resources too
iv. Internal recruitment candidates are cheaper to hire than an external candidate
v. Improved trust in candidates you already know than those you don’t guaranteeing
work output too
Question 2.2
An employer is supposed to
i. Provide a sage working place for the employee
ii. An employer should provide work, training and supervision to make sure set goals are
met
iii. An employer is all supposed to pay employee for services rendered
iv. Indemnify employees against liabilities and losses resulting from management’s
instructions
v. An employer ought to respect employees and should not discriminate against any
employee
