1. A window is comprised of a Ribbon with tabs. Which tab contains options for altering the view of an
icon? The View tab provides options for altering icon views 8 different ways, also for adding “panes” to
the window.
2. If I perform “Windows Shake”, what happens to a window? Shake is a feature in Windows that allow
us to quickly minimize all windows except one. By performing a “shake” we can quickly minimize
numerous windows at once, as well as bring them all back.
3. If I perform “Windows Snap”, what happens to a window? Snap is an easy and convenient way to
organize open windows on our desktop by dragging them to the edges of your screen. Snap can be
used to organize windows both vertically and horizontally.
4. A title bar can display 3 buttons; is the button below an example of a “variable” or “constant” button?
The Close button closes a window and removes the application from memory.
5. “Ready boost” involves swapping to which type of storage device? Magnetic, Optical, or Solid State?
The Ready Boost concept involves swapping to a Solid State device instead of the Hard Drive.
6. What does the “Snipping Tool” utility allow me to do? (if you can’t find the answer, ask Cortana)
Utility used to capture Desktop images. Works with the Clipboard in RAM.
7. Is this the icon of the new Windows 10 browser (Yes or No)? No, because Windows 10 includes a new
browser; Edge . Internet Explorer has been retired (sort of), it still exists as an accessory. Edge has a new look
and feel. Bing is the default Search Engine in Edge. New in Edge, check out web notes.
