- LPA 1925 s.1(1): Lease is a ‘term of years absolute’
- LPA 1925 s.149(6): Lease for life becomes a lease for 90 years [but if person dies before

- LPA 1925 s.54(2): No need for deed if lease is for 3 years or less, takes effect immediately
in possession, and is at market rent
- LPA 1925, s.53: Signed writing required for transfer of equitable lease
- Law of Property (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1989 s.2: Need for contract to satisfy
conditions here for doctrine of anticipation to apply
