6. Schizophrenia:
Moderately disturbed, Non-hospitalized patient:
Initial dosage: 4mg-8mg orally three times a day.
Maintenance dosage: 8mg-32mg a day given once or twice daily
Hospitalized patient: 8mg - 16mg orally 2 to 4 times a day. Max dose : 64mf/day
The dosage for seniors may be in the 8-16 mg/day range.: Perphenazine dosing

7. Common:
mild dizziness, blurred vision, headache, drowsiness,
sleep problems (insomnia), strange dreams, loss of appetite, vomiting, diar-
rhea, constipation, increased sweating, increased urination, dry mouth, stuffy

breast swelling or discharge, mild itching, and

10. 12 years and older:
Moderately disturbed, Nonhospitalized patients:-Recommended dose: 4 to 8
mg orally 3 times a day, with a dose reduction to the minimum effective dose
as soon as possible
Maximum dose: 24 mg/day Hospitalized patients:-Recommended dose: 8 to 16
mg orally 2 to 4 times a day-Maximum dose: 64 mg/day
Nonhospitalized patients should be limited to a daily dose of 24 mg;
maximum doses of 64 mg should be used in hospitalized patients.: Per-

Neonates exposed during the third trimester are at risk of developing severe
and/or prolonged side effects (e.g., agitation, hyper/hypotonia, tremor, som-
nolence, respiratory distress, feeding disorder): Perphenazine Pregnancy
19. Use is not recommended and a decision should be made to discontinue
breastfeeding or discontinue the drug, taking into account the importance of
the drug to the mother.
