DENSITY AND GROWTH

Define the following terms:
1. Population Distribution: The term population distribution refers to the way
people are placed over the earth's
Surface.

2. Population Density: The ratio between numbers of people to the size of
land area is called Density of population. It is usually measured in persons
per sq.km

Density of Population= population/Area

3. Population Growth: The population growth or population change refers to
the change in number of inhabitants of a territory during a specific period of
time. It can be expressed in absolute numbers or
in terms of Percentage.

4.Crude Birth Rate (CBR): CBR is expressed as number of live births in a
year per thousands of population,

CBR = (Bi×1000)/P.

5) Crude Death Rate (CDR): Number of deaths in a particular year per
thousand of population.

CDR= D/P×1000

6)Demographic Transition theory: it is a theory that describes and predicts
the future population of any area.
