How to solve an equation in absolute signs?
I.e. |(4x + 2)| = 10 - correct answer-Both x1 and x2 by:
(4x + 2) = 10
(4x + 2) = -10
Test divisibility by 3 - correct answer-A number is divisible by 3 if the sum of its digits is
divisible by 3.
Testing for divisibility by 7:
I.e. 161 - correct answer-1. Take the last digit of the number, double it, and subtract it
from the rest of the number.
2. If the result is divisible by 7 (or is 0), then the original number is also divisible by 7.
Take the number 161:
Double the last digit (1): 1×2=21×2=2.
Subtract this from the rest of the number: 16−2=1416−2=14.
Since 14 is divisible by 7, 161 is also divisible by 7.
