Most Important Functioning Skills for Potential Employees

Numerous skills are essential for potential employees. The most important skill is

response inhibition. This refers to one’s ability to control their responses to distractions or

stimulations around them. The next most important skill is working memory. Without working

memory, it would prove impossible to hold onto relevant information.

Another necessary skill is sustained attention (the ability to focus over time). Oftentimes,

there will be assignments that require a whole day’s worth of focus. Task initiation is all about

getting started. The next skill is organization. Organization means being capable of creating
