Introduction
In the landscape of society, social injustice is referred to as the inequitable and unfair
treatments which are ensured for groups or individuals within society (Bula-
Villalobos, 2024). The concept of social injustice encompassed the denial of
opportunities, rights, and resources on the basis of the individual protected
characteristics like gender, race, religion, sexuality, geographical location, and
ethnicity. The entrenched cultural norms and societal structures contributed so that
diverse social injustices can be perpetuated. The study is seeking to explore the
concept of social injustice and the study is aiming to examine the reasons for which
social injustice exits in the society. In the way of addressing the aim, a specific topic
of social injustice will be selected by the researcher which is referred to as gender-
based social injustice. In diverse forms, the gender-based social injustice is being
manifested like, political disenfranchisement, economic disparities, and social
discrimination (Kleven, 2024). These issues will be examined by the study through
considering relevant theories and examples so that a comprehensive understanding
can be ensured on gender inequality and reasons of gender inequality.
Main Body
In economic disparities, gender-based social injustice or gender inequality is evident
between men and women. In the workplace, for the same job the earning of women
is less than men. This specific phenomenon is being considered as the gender pay
gap. The report of World Economic Forum's Global Gender Gap explored that,
globally 77% is earned by the women for every dollar earned by men (Agte, 2024).
Occupational segregation influenced this difference between men and women in the
workplace. In the low-paying jobs overrepresenting of the women is ensured for the
gender inequality and in the high-paid leadership job the less representation of
women is being ensured. This specific phenomenon is explained by the glass ceiling
theory. According to the theory, women have high qualifications after that they are
not being able to grow in the corporate world and not being able to grab executive
roles due to the influence of invisible barrier. This is the way economic opportunities
are not being ensured for women in the corporate world which is influencing the
issue of gender inequality.

, Political disenfranchisement is referred to as productive and important component of
gender inequality. Globally, the bodies of decision-making and in the political
institutions, women are not getting equality and are being underrepresented. The
report of 2021 of global political database explored that, globally 26.1% of
parliamentary seats are being held by women (Kusuma, 2024). Therefore, it can be
explored that the domination is being ensured by men in the era of politics.
Discriminatory practices and structural barriers within political systems influenced the
gender inequality. According to the patriarchy theory, imbalance is ensured when the
primary power is hold by men in the social system. The perspectives and voices of
women are being dominated in the political system for the dominance of patriarchy
perpetuates male. This is the way the issue of gender inequality is being triggered in
the political system of the society.
The issue of gender inequality is triggered for the influence of social discrimination.
In the society, healthcare, and education, limited access, harassment, and violence
are faced by the women. Human trafficking, sexual harassment, and domestic abuse
are referred to as the examples. According to the feminist theory, diverse social
factors are putting a notable contribution so that the issue of gender inequality and
gender discrimination can be influenced (Harvey, 2024). For instance, sexuality,
class, and race. These factors are contributing so that unfair treatment can be
ensured for women in the society. In general terms, compounded discrimination is
experienced by the women from low-income backgrounds, LGBTQ+ women, and
women of colour. This is the way gender inequality is being ensured and economic
and social disadvantages are being fostered.
Conclusion
The study ensured an effective contribution to explore the examples of social
discrimination, political disenfranchisement, and economic disparities related to the
gender inequality. Therefore, a comprehensive understanding is being ensured on
the nature of gender inequality or gender-based social injustice. In addition, diverse
theories are considered by the study to explore the concept of social injustice and to
define the reasons behind the social injustice. Feminism, patriarchy, and ceiling are
the theories which contributed to address the aim of the study successfully.
