How do you determine whether it is a major or a minor crash? - Answer-Three questions must be asked:
1. Was any person killed or injured?
2. Did any of the drivers leave the scene without providing their details (in accordance with Road Rules
(NSW), Rule 287)?
3. Was any driver involved under the influence of alcohol or other drug?
If the answer is yes to any of these questions then it is deemed as a MAJOR crash
When it is deemed a MAJOR crash, what information must you get from the caller? - Answer-
Information from a caller reporting a crash:
1. Location of the crash
2. Injuries/persons trapped
3. How many vehicles involved
4. Time of crash
5. Particulars of caller (at least name and contact details)
