Crohn’s Disease
Patient Information :
● Fifty-eight years old
● History of smoking & or autoimmune disease
● Occasionally smokes & takes medications
Crohn’s Disease S/S :
● Diarrhea
● Fever
● Fatigue
● Cramping
● Blood in stool
● Weight Loss
● Mouth sores
● Reduced appetite
● Pain or drainage near or around the anus due to inflammation from a tunnel into the skin.
Treatment & Diagnosis :
● Anti-inflammatory Medications - Colonoscopy to be diagnosed
● Bowel rest - Seen by a Gastroenterologist
● Surgery
● Consuming more dietary fiber
- Crohn’s Disease affects the life of one by reducing fertility, energy, ability to
consume, although not fatal, severe complications, and can result in death if
left unattended. Unfortunately there is no cure, but there are multiple
treatments.
