Section A (20) Question 1

1. In your own words explain what you understand about the concepts below:
Support your explanation with examples.

1.1 Formal Language
Formal language is a way of speaking or writing that follows strict grammar rules and avoids
casual or everyday words. It is used in serious situations, like academic writing, business
letters, or speeches. For example, in a job interview, you might say, "I am highly interested in
this position due to my qualifications" rather than "I really want this job."

1.2 Didactics
Didactics refers to the method and practice of teaching, especially related to how subjects are
taught in a structured and effective way. It focuses on the strategies and techniques teachers
use to help learners understand and learn. For example, a teacher might use interactive
lessons or storytelling to teach math concepts.

1.3 Genres
Genres are different categories or types of literature, art, music, or other forms of expression.
They help us classify works based on their style or content. In literature, examples of genres
include fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and drama. In movies, genres could be comedy, action, or
horror.
