PURPOSE OF MEDICATION
Expected Pharmacological Action Therapeutic Use
Produce analgesia and reduce inflammation Reduction of inflammation; reduction of

Hypersensitivity, bleeding disorder or thrombocytopenia,
may increase risk of Reye's syndrome
Nursing Interventions
Assess for rash, monitor hepatic
function, may casue ^ AST/ALT;
monitor serum salicylate levels,
prolong bleeding time for 4-7
days and large doses monitor
Interactions the hematocrit.
Warfarin, heparin, thrombolytic agents, clopidogrel,
tirofiban, hisotry of GI bleeding or ulcer disease, severe
hepatic disease.
Client Education
Take w/ full glass of water,
remain in upright position for
