Air Operations Area (AOA) - ANSWER The area of the DFW Airport that is bounded by a fence or to which
access is otherwise restricted and which is primarily used or intended to be used for landing, taking-off
or surface maneuvering of an aircraft.
, Non-Sterile - ANSWER Any public locations outside of the passenger screening checkpoints. Examples
are: the baggage claim areas and the ticket counter areas. -- Both airport visitors and employees can

Security Program, in which security measures specified in 49 CFR Part 1450 are carried out. This area
includes the Secured area and the AOA.
* The baggage make-up areas beneath the terminal buildings (where baggage is sorted, loaded and
unloaded) is considered part of the area.
* NOTE: Jet bridges are not considered as designated entrance points.

controlled through the screening of persons and property and provides passengers access to boarding
