Supine - Lying face up

Right lower quadrant - contains the appendix and part of the small and large intestines



left lower quadrant - contains part of the small and large intestines



Pain or ache in the midback - Pain or injury/blows to the kidney



Location of the kidney - Posterior (on the flank) and superior to the pelvic bones. Susceptible to injury
because it is not protected by bones.
