Africa Alive expects their digital marketing officer to have correctly filled out their application form
with all the relevant information and also to have a professional CV that is easy to read and
understand. Because Arica Alive want to see the employees that are best suited to be digital
marketing officer.
- Degree level preferred in relevant subject or Vocational Marketing Training or equivalent work
experience.
Africa Alive would prefer for their digital marketing officer to have a degree level qualification in any
relevant subject to the role such as a degree in zoology, animal science, ICT, business, etc. Or to have
vocational training in marketing such as have studied a specific class on marketing or even digital
marketing. They also recognise any other equivalent and relevant work experience such as previous
work in a zoo or digital marketing at another company. Basically Africa Alive are looking for relevant
education or experience to the role so they can pick the most qualified person for the job.
- High level of computer literacy including Excel, Word, Outlook and databases.
Africa Alive expects their digital marketing officer to be confident in computer programs such as
Word, Excel, Outlook and databases because these are the programs that they predominately use at
Africa Alive and they want their employees to be already confident in these computer programs so
they don’t have to take the time to teach new employees how to use the program from no
experience.
Personal Skills
- Good level of spoken and written English
Africa Alive expects their digital marketing officer to be able to speak fluent English for interacting
with customers and other employees clearly and confidently. They also expect employees to be able
to write understandable English for customers and other employees to read. This prevents
misunderstandings and unhappy customers and staff.
- Good standard of personal presentation
Africa Alive expects their digital marketing officer to have a good standard of personal presentation.
This means they have a good hygiene standard and also wear appropriate and clean clothes. It is
important for their staff to have good personal presentation because they are directly interacting with
customers. Employees with bad presentation would not look approachable to customers and
therefore the customer will probably avoid asking for information.
- Warm & friendly disposition
Africa Alive expects their digital marketing officer to have a warm and friendly disposition. This means
they are polite, friendly and helpful both to customers and other staff. They want their staff to behave
this way to create a friendly atmosphere around the park and to also make sure their staff are as
helpful as possible. The employee will be interacting with customers and staff so Africa Alive want
them to always be polite and friendly to avoid unhappy customers and staff.
