Assessment techniques and measures
Demographic
- Can be used to monitor progress and achievements of a management of change
plan.
- It’s done by comparing the data relating to the start situation with that at the
transnational stages and at the end of the plan.
- Assessments can be done by the national census. As well as monitoring what’s
happened over time.
- Indicators can be used to compare what has happened in one place with what’s
happened in another.
Economic
- Issue: poverty, housing, or deprivation.
- There are a good range of performance indicators that can be used how the
situations have changed over the years/ specific period (1,5,10 years).
- Can be used in spatial comparisons like the demographic.
Social progress
Index of multiple deprivation (IMD) useful in monitoring inequalities over time to
determine whether they are widening or reducing.
