METHOD OF INSTRUCTION
BIOL& 260: Microbiology DE is a completely on-line course including a virtual lab. By registering
for an online course you have indicated that you are computer literate and have access to a computer and internet connection. (NOTE: lab simulations will not run on mobile devices. ) If this is not the case, then you need to withdraw and take this course in a classroom setting.
All activities, assignments, quizzes, exams and interactions between students and the instructor occur in the online environment (although you are welcome to call me or meet with me face-to-
face in my office if the need arises.) There are no required virtual class times, and you may work
on the class at your convenience during the week - but this course is NOT a self-paced class. Under “Modules” you will find all the weekly lessons – which contain your assignments and deadlines.
This DE microbiology course closely parallels the BIOL& 260 on-campus course. Students are required to log-in to the course web site during weekdays for course announcements, inbox postings and to keep up with the course pace.
Assignments will be graded around the time of the due date. If you work ahead, be aware that your assignment may not be graded for a few days. If you submit work past the due date, it may
also take a few days for it to be graded. Thank you for your patience!
