Spurling Test
neck pain and pain radiating on the same side the neck is turned suggests cervical
nerve root involvement
Straight Leg Test
pain radiating down into the ipsilateral leg suggests lumbosacral radiculopathy
Cross Straight-Leg Raise
pain radiates down the affected leg suggests lumbosacral radiculopathy
(contralateral)
FABER Test
reproducible pain suggests groin strain
Kendall Test
- rectus femoris shortening: when the leg flexed over the end of table extends
beyond 90°
- iliopsoas shortness = extended leg is able to flex to 90° but thigh is off the table
Trendelenburg Sign
pelvic drop on the unaffected side suggesting weakness of the abductor muscles
