1. Committing Plagiarism (i.e. Not providing any references for sources utilised; Incorrect
referencing)
2. References were incorrectly done, especially when compiling the bibliography. Special
attention needs to be drawn to the referencing (in text and bibliography) of the study
guide. Most usually just write: Study Guide, CMY3702 as a reference. No additional
research.
3. Not including and integrating information sufficiently
4. The integration of the information in the writing is not crafted into a well thought out
discussion, students merely just state facts.
5. White collar crime discussed instead of the psychological explanation!
6. Not adhering to instructions as clearly stipulated in tutorial letter 101:13-15
7. Poor structural layout
8. Not providing a declaration of good academic practice
9. Failure to indicate sufficient understanding of subject matter
10. Not applying the theory practically (own examples) and illustrating own understanding
thereof
11. Not applying the theory practically (own examples) and illustrating own understanding

12. The study guide is the only source used.
13. The Introductions are a major issue. Introduction either contains too much information
that should be in the body, or they only write one line as an introduction. That one line
being the assignment topic.
