It can be a severe complication of a large acute myocardial infarction, as well as other conditions. 10. pulmonary edema: fluid in the air sacs and bronchioles 11. CHF (congestive heart failure): heart is unable to pump its required amount of blood 12. Bradycardia: slow heart rate 13. Arterioles: smallest arteries 14. Aortic dissection: inner layer of the aorta, the large blood vessel branching off the heart, tears. Blood surges through the tear, causing the inner and middle layers of the aorta to separate (dissect) 15. PEA: pulseless electrical activity. Heart is doing something but not pumping 16. CPR/AED: Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation Automated External Defibrillator 17. pulmonary artery: Carries deoxygentated blood from the heart to the lungs 18. pulmonary veins: Deliver oxygen rich blood from the lungs to the left atrium 19. systolic pressure: Blood pressure in the arteries during contraction of the ventricles. 20. diastolic pressure: Blood pressure that remains between heart contractions.
