ACTIVITY 1 - PLAN AND DESIGN RESOURCES FOR GRADE R
Plan and design resources suitable for Grade R for ONE of the following Shape and Space activities:

Ask your mentor teacher about the possible teaching and learning resources that can be
used to teach the topic you selected and list them here.
Pattern blocks introduce Grade R learners to mathematical concepts like
symmetry, sorting, counting, patterns, tessellation and so much more.
These blocks also introduce them to 2D shapes.
2D shapes can be created by cutting paper of different textures or
other materials(buttons, popcorn seeds) and creating a shape collage.
Matchsticks or popsicle sticks can also be used to create 2D shapes. They
also introduce the learner to sorting, counting, symmetry and many more.
