Types of cells
Types of tissues
Body systems
Cells & Tissues 1
, A typical human cell
Cells
a human body has over 100 trillion different types of cells
Independent functional unit of a living animal, each cell has life in it and has
separate functions.
Cell membrane (the outer covering), cytoplasm (the liquid inside) & Nucleus
(the middle)
the nucleus has chromosomes, genes & deoxyribonucleic acids (DNA)
The body function through cells → tissues → organs → body
Examples of different type of cells
Blood cells ( ex leucocytes & erythrocytes) are a type of connective tissue
Bone (osteoblasts & osteoclasts)
Cells & Tissues 2
, Muscle (myocytes or myoblasts)
Connective tissue (fibroblasts)
Renal (nephron)
Nervous (neurone)
Epithelial Cells are the cells that line all the organs in the body
Liver Cells (Hepatocytes)
Spermatocytes/Oocytes (Spermatozoon is a single sperm cell)
The cell
Cell Membrane
Cytoplasm has several organelles → mitochondria, ribosomes, &
lysosomes.
Nucleus
Nucleus as the control centre for the cell
