More than half of the population of Pakistan lives in the rural areas. Most of these regions
are under the influence of feudal lords. It has been noticed, from their family backgrounds,
that many of the politicians are landowners. While they have continued to rule for decades,
it has been observed that the villagers under their rule have lagged behind in every aspect
of life compared to urban areas and much of the rest of the world. The people in these
places don’t even have basic requirements such as health and education. Harsh feudalism
existed in the rural Sindh, Baluchistan and some parts of Southern Punjab.
