P3 & M1 by Maisy Binion

In this assignment I’m going to describe the main physical and technological resources
required in the operaton of a selectie organisaton and then in order to achieie merit I’m
going explain how the management of human, physical and technological resources can
improie the performance of a selected organisaton which is Tate & Lyle.

Physical resources

Physical Resources is the most important aspect of a business because it’s the place that the
business needs to uphold in order to carry out its purposes.

Premises:
This is 6th important because the Tate & Lyle building has to be out the way, and away of
other large factories. It’s easier for large deliieries and accessible for lorry’s to come in and
out of the organisaton and lots of spare space to put the stock and equipment to make
their products, this helps improie the performance because it stops complaints because the
smell of the factory is of putng and unpleasant for nearby neighbours so they haie chosen
a locaton isolated from neighbourhoods and other factories.

Materials:
This is 5th important because materials are items Tate & Lyle needs in order to run their
organisaton, the performance is without material such as a low supply of transport us as
lorries, it will be a longer process to get one this can lead to the business spending more
money on other transport and unhappy customers. All the materials that Tate & Lyle use
must be be updated an be in good conditon within standards and safe because the public
are buying Tate & Lyles products to eat, without the right health and safety customers could
become ill which could lead to the business haiing to close because of health and safety.
The performance will not perform well without materials they need to make their product
and sell; this can lead to bad reputaton because if you are wastng their tme it will be hard
to operate.

Machinery:
This is the 2nd biggest role because it would be hard for the factory to produce sugar by
hand; they need machinery in order to make products. This can improie the performance
because with machinery it works a lot quicker and is lot more saier howeier it may not be
clean or it is damaged or broken can take long, this is a huge risk. This can lead to bad
seriices and a decrease in employees wantng to work there. To improie the performance if
there is big machines in process someone should be employee to make sure the machines
are clean and working well.

Security:
This is 4th important because security is what protects eieryone in the factory and preients thef
this improies the businesses because by haiing CCTV it preients employee and innocent
being accused of a crime they didn’t commit for example, if an expense bit of machinery
was stolen, the security can look back on CCTV and see who the criminal was, and then take
