ADAP Practice Test (2023/2024) Rated A Nathan Deal The governor of Georgia TADRA Georgia's Teenage and Adult Driver Responsibility Step One: Instructional Permit (Class CP) *Must be at least 15 years old *Must take and pass a written exam *Is issued an Instructional Permit(Class CP) *You can operate any class c vehicles Step Two: Provisional License (Class D) *Must be 16 or 17 years old and have held an Instructional Permit for one year and one day *You have no major traffic violations that resulted in the mandatory suspension of their permit, completed ADAP, and passed a behind-the-wheel skills test Joshua's Law In order to obtain a Provisional License (Class D) at age 16, teens must show proof of having successfully completed an approved driver training course consisting of at least 30 hours of theoretical instruction and 6 hours of practical behind-the-wheel instruction. Conditions of Provisional License (Class D) *You may not drive between the hours of 12:00 am and 5:00 am *During first six months: only immediate family members may ride in the vehicle * During second six months: only one person under 21 years of age who is not an immediate family member may ride in the vehicle Step Three: The Class C license * You have to reach the age of 18 * You have held a Provisional License for one year and one day Major traffic violations * Driving under the influence * Using a motor vehicle to flee or attempt to elude a police officer * Racing on highways or streets * Reckless driving * Hit and run or leaving the scene of an accident * Any violations that ressulted in the assessment of 4 or more points against their driver's license TADRA Suspensions (DUI) A person under 21 years of age are prsumed to be DUI if they are operating a motor vehicle and their blood alcohol concentration (BAC) is .02 or greater First Suspension (DUI) Your license would be suspended for a minimum period of 6 months. If your BAC was .08 or greater or you refused implied consent testing, your license will be suspended for a minimum period of 12 months. Second Suspension (DUI) If a person was convicted for a second offense within a 5-year period, their license would be suspended for a minimum of 18 months. During the first 120 days of the suspension, you will have no driving privileges whatsoever. Third Suspension (DUI) You will be a HABITUAL VIOLATOR and your driver's license will be revoked for a period of 5 years. You will also have to do a 12-month ignition interlock requirement. Georgia's Implied Consent Law Requires you to submit to state administered chemical tests of your blood, breath, urine, or other bodily substances for the purpose of determining if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Texting and Driving Any driver under 18 who as held a Class D license or a learner's permit is prohibited from using wireless device while driving. The fine is $150, or $300 if involved in an accident while using a wireless device. Some manufacturers recommend placing your hands at 8 o'clock and 4 o'clock positions when the vehicle is equipped with air bags. Driving at night The fatal crash rate of teenage drivers 16-19 years of age is about FOUR TIMES as high at night.
