• De meeste mensen zijn het ermee eens dat processen van levensbelang zijn in elke organisatie
• Niet duidelijk wat een proces juist is: verschillende opvattingen




o beheer …, … proces, op basis van functies, op basis van management, hiërarchische structuur (grote blokken
van boen en kleinere elementen beneden)
o ook verschillende manieren om processen weer te geven (Word, Excel, BPMN, …)
➔ ALLEMAAL BINNEN EENZELFDE BEDRIJF: verschillende manieren om processen uit te drukken binnen een
bedrijf → CHAOS!!
• Ook geen akkoord binnen van alle informatieve boeken over processen
• Processen zijn belangrijk, dus we moeten een lijn vinden in wat het juist is

A DEFINITION




1. Een bedrijfsproces is een verzameling van activiteiten
Dit is het werk dat moet worden uitgevoerd door bepaalde bronnen in een organisatie
2. Dat moet gelabeld worden als action verb – noun
Action verbs (dynamische werkwoorden) drukken een actie uit (fysiek/mentaal) → duidelijke actie
3. En genereert een waardevol resultaat
De output van 1 instantie is traceerbaar, telbaar en waardevol
4. En het start met een onafhankelijke trigger
Het event dat het proces op gang brengt
5. En het gebeurt herhaaldelijk
het creëert herhaaldelijk waarde (anders een project)

, DEEL 1: EEN VERZAMELING VAN ACTIVITEITEN
• In een proces is elke stap even belangrijk als de andere, elke stap afzonderlijk creëert geen extra waarde, maar het is de
ketting van activiteiten die de waarde creëert
• Waardecreatie gebeurt wanneer functies samenwerken, het doel is niet de individuele stappen van departementen,
maar de gecombineerde stappen

DE OPKOMST EN BEPERKINGEN VAN FUNCTIES
• Functies: professionals in een specifiek functiedomein bijscholen om bedrijfsexperts te creëren
• Gemakkelijker om mensen en activiteiten te managen als ze gegroepeerd zijn in gespecialiseerde domeinen (marketing,
finance, sales, …)
• Schaalvoordelen (efficiëntie)
• Ontwikkeling van hoge vaardigheidsniveaus
➔ creëert problemen!!
• Aparte delen optimaliseren optimaliseert het geheel niet
o Het volledige proces wordt gefragmenteerd
o De customer wordt irrelevant voor sommige functies
o Gebrek aan communicatie en steeds moeilijker en moeilijker
o Gebrek aan samenwerking, behalve tijdens projecten
➔ processen en functies moeten samenkomen, we moeten over de departementen heen kijken en niet alleen eigen
optimaliseren, we moeten kijken naar waardecreatie en samenwerking tussen departementen


DEEL 2: ACTION VERB – NOUN
→ naamgevingsconventies met hogere doelstelling
Action verb is hier belangrijk
We willen geen nonsens, maar duidelijke naamgeving
• Verb – noun (enroll student, assign inspector)
• Verb – noun – noun (enroll student in course, assign inspector to route)
• Verb – qualifier – noun (take new order, take recurrent order)
• From-state to to-state (typisch ERP, gaan we proberen vermijden, want is risicovol, want slechte processen!!)
(purchase to pay, vacancy to hire)
→ singulier zelfstandig naamwoord (1 item dat processed moet worden, dub bijvoorbeeld niet ‘hire employees’, ‘hire employee’
zou wel goed zijn) + action verb dat duidelijk is (niet vaag!!)


DEEL 3: WAARDEVOL RESULTAAT
“if we reverse it, it should indicate the result” = simpele test!!
Stap 1: kijk naar je action-verb noun en draai die om
➢ Enroll student in course → a student is enrolled
➢ Assign inspector to route → an inspector is assigned to a route
➢ Staff organization → an organization is staffed
Stap 2: is dit resultaat traceerbaar – telbaar – waardevol?
➢ Traceerbaar → is het zinvol om over 1 instantie te praten, als ik iets indien kan bedrijf dan de status ervan zeggen?
➢ Telbaar → is het zinvol om de instanties te tellen?
➢ Waardevol → is het resultaat betekenisvol?
3x JA! → CHECK
Dit zijn action verbs die sowieso leiden tot een niet waardevol resultaat, want die zijn ni specifiek
Bijvoorbeeld to manage: wanneer is het juist gemanaged? NIET DUIDELIJK!!
➔ deze werkwoorden moet je vermijden!
