How Volkswagen could limit the impact of these changes and respond in the future?
Volkswagen could limit the impact of these changes by not cheating never again on the emissions of
their cars. They’ve produced more than 1 million tonnes of extra pollution, roughly the same as the
UK’s combined emissions for all power stations, vehicles, industry and agriculture. If Major European
cities want cleaner air for their citizens, a good start from Volkswagen to help them out could be as
they’ve been doing now, creating more electrical cars which won’t hurt the environment as they just
use electricity. Also, another option could be not only investing money into electric cars but into new
technology for new engines for their diesel and hybrid models which hopefully will produce less
pollution by having the latest and cleanest technology in the industry on them and therefore they will
not surpass the new regulations imposed by the government and also Volkswagen will be one of the
automaker which will be contributing in producing cars which doesn’t pollute and fix their error, so,
cities will have more cleaner air for their citizens both sick and not sick and therefore limit any
regulations in the EU.
As for higher demand for cars in India and China, they’ve been already making deals with those 2
countries, and they are going to manufacture all the new electric models in those countries in the next
3-4 years. As for consumer wanting more fuel efficient and safer cars, what Volkswagen could do to
limit the impact of these changes is creating more hybrid and electric cars, rather than diesel. Because
customers want to save up on fuel and as it happened in EEUU, people has started to drive less and
buy less cars because the price of diesel or gasoline was too high, and it didn’t last enough for their
trips.
Cheaper cars coming into Europe from China isn’t being really a high concern for them as they aren’t
making the top automakers such as Volkswagen, GM or Ford drop their sells. Cheaper cars are not
always the best option and as most people know, Volkswagen prices aren’t too high compared to other
top manufacturers, also their models are worth its price. China is trying to be competitive in the
European market by lowering the prices of their models, but people is not being attracted by those
models as they have much more better quality the vehicles from Volkswagen and they’ve been much
more years in the market, which means that customers have established a relation of faith on them and
Volkswagen also has a good reputation, not by just producing the best technology in their cars but by
treating well their customers and always looking for them in all aspects, and this makes them one of
the best auto manufacturers in the industry ever.
