P5
Resources needed to run Reason required
the event
Whiteboard At our event we needed to make sure that all the participants were
aware of the games running up on the 5-A-side tournament, so we set
up all of the fixtures in the whiteboard which also helped us to write
down the score of every match. The white board was at the entrance of
the sports haul and every participant saw it before any match started.
This showed us that they were also aware of what was going on.
Football As our sport event was a 5-A-side tournament a football was essential. If
we could not get one the event could not have been run. We contacted
the PE department to get a football and they gave it to us without any
problem. After the tournament we gave it back to them. This was a free
cost.
Whistle A whistle was needed in order to manage the event and referee the
matches played. The referee uses a whistle to stop the game, mark a foul
or let them know if it was a goal or not. So, a whistle was also a priority
to get and we had to buy from outside which made it a Variable Cost for
us.
Bibs As the event was a 5-A-side tournament, bibs were needed in order fro
them to identify their team mates and not get confused with the other
team in those games, and for us to not get confused with the 2 teams. At
every match one of the two teams wore bibs and the other normal
clothes. We also contacted the PE department to get those and it was a
free fixed cost thanks to them.
Benches It was really important for our event to get benches as the teams and
subs that were not playing had to sit down and watch the others play.
Also, we had to use benches to organise them by their form groups and
when they were called come quickly to the pitch. It was an easy, quickly
and organised way to make them sit by groups in the tournament and
make it really smoothly as we weren’t losing any time. The benches were
already in the sports haul so we just needed to organise them and put 4
benches in each side of the haul.
Printer We had to use the printer to print all the sheets for the form groups and
the papers that we used to organise the teams on the 8 benches and
promote the event.
Paper It was really important to have paper as we had to print all the sheets
and give them to the form groups to get all the 8 teams signed. We also
had to print the name of the forms and put them on the benches to get
them organised by their form groups.
We also used paper to then write down all the form groups and players
and before let them change tick them and see if they really paid.
Stop-Watch It is really important to have access to a stop-watch before and during
the event. A stop-watch is used to control the time so, in order to meet
our SMART TARGET of finishing at 5pm; we had to make sure we were
on the right time.
Also, we set up the games of a maximum time of 6 minutes and having a
stop-watch was really important so we could stop the game at exactly 6
minutes.
