Sophia Pathways English Composition II Touchstone 3.1 School Uniform should be Mandatory Dress code disputes are fit as a fiddle, and are not prone to vanish at any point in the near future. The keys to a fruitful dress arrangement are sound judgment, the capacity to bargain, and the desire of all parties required to work through their disparities. Some people argue that school dress code policies can influence the behavior of students, reading environment as well as academic performance of the students. Others argue that uniform arrangements undergird the presumption that a kid's ability to go up against contrast is immaterial. School uniforms are believed to restore order in classrooms and make the learning environment conducive for the learners as well as the teachers (Anderson, 2002, p. 3). However, dress code and uniform policies do not address the same issue. The former dictates what must not be worn while the latter states what must be worn. The biggest challenge encountered by schools in formulating and adopting dress code is that fashions change frequently, thus making it hard for schools to keep up with changing fashions. They hence end up adopting the general dress codes (Anderson, 2002, p. 6). The supporters for strict dress codes and uniforms for students justify their arguments by stating the advantages of standardized dress in a classroom set up. These advantages include; enhanced school safety (reduced violence), conducive learning environment, increased self-esteem among students as well as reduced or less stress on the family to keep their kids up the fashion (Anderson, 2002, p. 7).Dress codes give students peace
