Summary HEALTH POLICY AND NURSING ENGAGEMENT IN ADVOCACY
HEALTH POLICY AND NURSING ENGAGEMENT IN ADVOCACY2 Health Policy and Nursing Engagement in Advocacy Health policy refers to predetermined goals of international, national, or local level to inform decisions, plan appropriately, and strategize on how to achieve these specified goals. Health policies range from formal legislation to outreach efforts. The former affects the allocation of resources and policies of other sectors. On the other hand, advocacy refers to strategies to raise issues nurses are familiar with and aim to promote the delivery and accessibility of healthcare services by individual and community members (Nsiah et al., 2019). Nurses advocate for better healthcare services through mass communication, attending media editions, assuming leadership skills, and community mobilization. Nursing leadership plays a crucial role in pushing the implementation of the needs of a nurse. The leadership stands based on nurse relationships or community nurse relationships. The paper focuses on the culture of nurses, whether the roots of nurse leadership get support from personal nurse relationships or community nurse relationships, review DNP, and report on the future of nurses as indicated by the Institute of Medicine.
