The term “thermo” is related to heat energy and dynamics is related to “work energy”. Thermodynamics is a science of relationship between heat, work and the properties of the system. It is concerned with the means necessary to convert heat energy into mechanical work from available sources such as fossil fuels. OR Thermodynamics is the experimental science which deals with the change in macroscopic properties which characterized or fixed the state of system (such as pressure, temperature, volume etc) caused by two energy modes; heat and work energy exchanged with surrounding via boundary during process or cycle.
