1. Mantex, a South African company in the telecommunications industry, realises the significance of
workforce development to remain competitive. Although they follow a traditional training approach,
they intend to become a learning organisation. You, as an HRD Specialist, have to outline a plan
to help Mantex grow from a traditional organisation (10 marks) into a learning organisation (10

2. TechCo Innovations is a global technology company specialising in artificial intelligence, robotics,
and advanced automation solutions. Since the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the
company has experienced significant changes in its operations, products and workforce. As the
HRD Manager at TechCo Innovations, you are tasked with analysing the impact of the Fourth
Industrial Revolution on this learning organisation and its HRD functions. Your insights will play a
crucial role in the company’s learning and development strategies for adapting to the rapidly
evolving technological landscape. Discuss the Fourth Industrial Revolution (5 marks) and its impact
on learning organisations (10 marks) by using the case study of TechCo Innovations. (15)
3. In view of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, discuss the three types (15 marks) of open
distance electronic learning (ODeL) modes of delivery and explain how each type uses
technology to facilitate learning. (15)
