Security of information: All of the system users should have their data saved onto their servers so it
stored safely in the IT department in reliable hands. This can prevent people accessing data that
should not be able to and stops them from being able to see information which is confidential and
should be denied access. The management in the IT department should be able to access the files
and ensure that they are secured and cannot be changed. They can also change who has access so
no secure data is breached. Some business will have a system where they keep logs that display who
ha accessed data and if it I faulted they can decide.

LTM follow a policy of keeping all the data and files they have stored confidential, for example if
their I a ticket purchased in the museum with a card then a copy of the bank documents will be held
by the business, if these were to be shared they would be breaking the policy. To make sure this
was being carried out they would have to train employees about private information and how it is

Backups: keeping backup information somewhere can be good for a company in case the original
copy of a document is faulted or lost then they will still be able to view the data and nothing will be
lost. An example of this could be a student backing up their work on USB so if someone happens to
the computer and the files then their work is not destroyed or lost completely.

LTM would use backup storage without the business on all the information that they are holding
about customers and events to prevent losing it. Backing up their data will not be very costly as they
will only need to buy more storage so that they can hold the data, however training may be
expensive on showing employees what to do in the case of a corrupt file.

Organisational Policies: LTM will have these policies for both their staff and their customer’s whi9ch
they must follow correctly. One of these polices is that the staff are not able to use their mobile
phones in working hours and another is making sure that staff are using the correct uniform so they
represent the business By people following these policies it makes sure that LTM has a professional
standard and helps to keep staff following rules. Training staff to follow these policies may be
expensive as they will need to be at a presentable standard.

Health and Safety: There is not very high risk when using information systems of something going
wrong. An example could be overheating of a plug which could possibly lead to a fire, so therefore
power outlets should be spaced out and not be a risk. LTM should make sure that their staff go
through training which may be costly to ensure that they can spot a hazard and be able to ensure
that they can deal with it so there is no accidents caused, on their website they have a page that

they will have a health and safety office where any incidents are logged and recorded, to make sure
they can prevent something like that happening in the future and can make sure that the place is
safe for staff and customers.

Costs: A company will try to maximise their profits and will want to minimise their outflows in their
business. The government will try to spend as little as possible but be able to spend enough on
public services to have money for other useful projects. An IT project would be expensive but would
have benefits as if a computer works faster it can influence the time that people finish tasks and
could be more effective. Training could be affected by this at LTM due to training being very
expensive and may not be able to afford it.
