She makes decisions that will make life easier for her, she also uses her critical thinking knowledge to overcome her seniors in the workplace who had no interest in listening to her arguments. Through perseverance and thinking critically she convinces the upper management to change their viewpoint on the issue. Elements of Critical Thinking The most apparent barrier to critical thinking that Sally faces in this scenario is the barrier of conformity. Sally does not want to let her peers know that she does not agree with their views, so instead of speaking her mind she goes along with what they say and casually agrees with them. Sally does possess the characteristics of a critical thinker; she gathered information and formulated a well thought out argument as to why the company policy should be changed
