Covalent Bonding
What is a Covalent Bond?
A covalent bond is a shared pair of electrons.
It occurs between non-metals.
Atoms share outer electrons to get a noble gas arrangement.
What is Co-ordinate Bonding?
Also known as dative bonding.
Co-ordinate bonding is when one atom contributes both electrons (lone pair) to the bond.
Represented by an arrow from the atom donating to the atom receiving.
